Getting Started with RPA for Oil and Gas

Starting in 2014, the Oil and Gas industry experienced a major commodities downturn which reinforced the boom and bust cycle which continues to plague the industry. “Lower for longer” became an often recited phrase to prepare investors and companies alike for a new era in the industry. To survive this downturn, energy companies took drastic steps to recalibrate capital expenditures, return higher multiples on investments, and invest in new technology. Companies that survived the downturn are now thriving with more focused project portfolios, leaner staffing on projects, and leveraged technologies to make better data driven decisions. The greatest impact of these changes has been the investment in new technology, and specifically Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
