Valuable Insights & Inspiring Content

  • One of the most sought-out presentations at #BPOG blew past attendees’ expectations. Horace Hobbs, the Chief Economist at Phillips 66, spoke about national and international economic predictions. Focusing on how oil and gas specifically influences this global energy landscape, Hobbs effortlessly translated highly intellectual information to the non-finance experts in the audience through relatable and humorous anecdotes.
  • BP’s lead architect presented on agile architecture for IT assets. Noorddin Taj’s wealth of in-depth knowledge for M&A and successful divestments resulted in attendees obtaining truly valuable content directly applicable to their business. Taking a script from BP, Taj explained in detail the steps comprising a divestment process and what challenges organizations face. From there, he explained the significance behind an agile architecture and the benefits executing this will bring.

“The demand for individuals to be within their organizations, making a change, is very significant. But the opportunity for people to spend 2% of their work year outside their organizations and here at a conference like this—learning about new innovative ways to be impactful within their organization—the opportunities have been endless.”  Kyle Tate, Conference Producer

Memorable Guest Speakers – Keynotes and track presenters alike were all chosen for their unique and accomplished expertise. With highly relevant success stories, audience members were impressed with the encouraging and informational talks from impressive names such as Gregory Bayne—the Director of Total Leader and Coach Solutions, Christina Sistrunk—the CEO of Aera Energy, and Benjamin Beberness—SAP’s VP of the Oil and Gas Industry.

Although each speaker wowed the crowd, one keynote particularly stood out with a story so inspiring, attendees couldn’t stop gushing about it the rest of the conference. That individual was Marcus Luttrell, the decorated Navy SEAL and author of Lone Survivor. His speech can best be described in the words of one audience member, who declared it “absolutely excellent. I’ve seen hundreds of talks like this and this is probably the best I’ve ever seen.”

Honoring Women in Energy – We were proud to announce the second annual Women in Energy Reception to honor those exceptional and inspiring women leaders in the oil and gas industry. Sharing stories of challenges and triumphs, the panel welcomed energy experts Nilofar Molavi of PwC, Jennifer Hartsock of a GE Company, Zhanna Golodryga of Phillips 66, and CJ Warner of Andeavor. Discussions included diversity, navigating complex work environments, and balancing a successful career with personal life.

Enjoyable Customer Experience – One of the most satisfying aspects of conference production is the value customers walk away with. Knowing that the content shared was of high quality and could be easily replicated into various organizations can only make the oil and gas field as a whole stronger. We reached an impressive 635 registrations in all, which consisted of 16 C-level attendees, 18 VP-level attendees, and 12% total being senior-level. Those stats prove that although the energy landscape has been hit hard lately, there remains a strong sense of community and leadership still working towards a bright future.

“I really appreciated how you showed the ‘guts’ of your SAP system. Theoretical presentations have their place, but, to me, this was VERY valuable! GREAT JOB!” Justin L, conference attendee

Happy Hour Sponsored by Eventful – No conference is complete without a few networking and cocktail receptions. Eventful Conferences was proud to sponsor Tuesday evening’s happy hour, complete with Hors d’oeuvres and fully stocked bars. Houston is bustling with remarkable restaurants throughout the city, so most attendees and sponsors alike shifted from happy hour to dinner time to fuel their learning minds!

Standout Sessions – With dozens of highly accomplished experts in the oil and gas field speaking on all the sessions, it’s hard to narrow down the best of the best. However, a few topics were of big interest to the audience in attendance making certain presentations truly educational and in some cases, just plain entertaining.
