As with every memorable year of the Best Practices for Oil & Gas conference, the 8th annual event flew by!
With over 650 energy professionals in attendance, there was an abundance of shared success stories, new business connections, and invaluable content presented.
Overall, 2018’s leading oil and gas conference for SAP-users was another monumental success for all in attendence. Here are a few highlights:
SAP Excellence in Energy Awards
This year’s event kicked off our inaugural awards ceremony, where SAP honored the leaders in the oil and gas community.
Categories included Innovator of the Year, Excellence in Business Optimization, the Purpose Driven Award, and the Game-Changer Award.
The selection process was tough, as nominations came in from all over the industry citing influential businesses and achievements. But in the end, the winners were narrowed down to Andeavor, Marathon Oil, Valero, White Star Petroleum and Accenture.
Special Guest Speaker: David Robinson – Hall of Fame, NBA
This celebrity keynote entranced the full audience with his humility, honesty, and comedic nature. Discussing details of his claim to fame, Robinson rehashed his time spent in the NBA and his experiences as a businessman and family-man. This conversation/interview style session resonated with viewers on a personal level through his down-to-earth demeanor.
Community Involvement
As usual, the success of this event was built on the collaboration and communication between the community members. Leading organizations, influential experts, and SAP super-users all take part in this conference, uniting for overall energy-industry prosperity.
Women in Energy Reception
Sharing stories of challenges and triumphs, the Women in Energy reception honored the exceptional and inspiring female leaders in the oil and gas industry. Discussions included diversity, navigating complex work environments, and balancing a successful career with personal life.
2019’s BPOG Date & Venue
Be sure to join us for next year’s Best Practices for Oil & Gas – which will boast the 9th consecutive event for the community! Next year’s event will be held September 16-18 at the Marriot Woodlands Waterway.
